This isn’t a self-defense mechanism. It’s because INTJs view feelings as personal. We don’t think we now have any company putting our thoughts out in the general public sphere, and it will be difficult for us whenever other people do this. (numerous INTJs hate public displays of love.) Plus, we realize that feelings are volatile. We should determine what we’re experiencing before we behave about it. Or in other words, we analyze everything — especially feelings.
